Joy of joys, America. Yesterday my true love gave me my Valentines Day/ Birthday present early. He came home after telling me on the phone that he had something in the works.
I didn't know what it was, because I am not psychic. Therefore, I was very excited and could hardly hold still.
When he arrived he made me close my eyes and then spun me around and then handed me this:
My dream gun, a SIG Sauer P230 in .380. It is a champ. It is beautiful. James Bond would be jealous. SIGs are my favorite guns-- they're a triumph of design. You can beat the crap out of them, and they're reliable. You can set off thousands and thousands of explosions inside of them and they will not fail to function mechanically.
They're efficient. They make you focused and disciplined. They're beautifully crafted.
I almost cried when he handed it to me. We took it to the range yesterday, and again today. I will spend the next several months finding perfect grips and blowing my money on sights and more magazines and a better holster. He also set it up for me to have refinished and engraved when I decided what I wanted it to look like. Be still my heart.
